Weekly Update

From our Elders at Central

Thursday, September 18 | 2025

This is week 3  of our series called I Will…  - A resolute attitude of I WILL statements that can allow you to focus on little things over a long period of time leading to big change. This week Kevin will be bringing the message  I Will Listen to the Lord.  If you want to prepare, read  Deuteronomy 6:4-7 & 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Worship songs for this Sunday are:   …  Who You Say I Am,  Egypt, Who Else, Abide

I hope you are adjusting to our new 2nd service time of 10:45 AM.   First Service still begins at 9AM. It seems to be working well. It is easing our congestion in the parking lot between services and our staff appreciates a bit more time to breathe between services.

Our Fall Festival is coming up on Saturday, October 18th at Northwest Park. YOU still have time to volunteer. We need you to make it happen.  To be a part of this great outreach event to our whole community, sign up to volunteer here…

Please continue to park at Northwest Park for both first and second service on Sunday morning. It will be a great help with parking for our many Visitors every Sunday if you can use one of our great Shuttle Vans.  The later start time for second service should make it even easier to shuttle from the park.

I hope you have been keeping up with your Bible Recap study this week. This Sunday, September 21st  ,  will be Day 264 – you should be reading  Zechariah chapters 5 through 9 by this Sunday.

We have more ongoing facility projects coming up at Central. We FINALLY have received permits for our new bathrooms in the Connect Center and 2-Story building.  We now have a construction schedule and are targeting to have the new bathrooms in place before the holidays.

Have you noticed the significant changes that are happening to our Lobby and Welcome Center?  Have you provided feedback to the staff? It is, of course, still in progress. We also have some serious maintenance items coming up this fall with our AC, as one of our large 40-ton units needs replacement. We have paid a 25% deposit on a new unit. Cost of the unit plus installation will be just over $270,000.  This was not a budgeted item. You will be hearing more about that as well as some other updates that are in our future.

Praise the Lord! Our Missions team that was in Cambodia for 10 days is safely home again.  They were a great blessing to the staff and children that are served by Rapha International (one of our mission partners). We pray that the fire that was ignited in their hearts for this mission will burn bright and spread to many others at Central.  We are excited to have them back home and can’t wait to hear all the stories about what God did with them in Cambodia.

The Central staff & elders pray for the health and safety of you and your family every week. We pray for your physical health but also for your spiritual & emotional health. We pray that there will be harmony and unity within His church. Please continue to submit prayer requests on our Connection Cards, Linktree, or through our Central App. You can also stop by our Prayer Room on Sunday morning to submit a prayer or meet with a prayer warrior. We are a church that believes in the power of prayer and we see it working every day in our lives.

Thank you for being YOU and for staying connected here at Central! Are you attending that EXTRA class or connect group each week? We need more than an hour a week with the Lord and His word. What about discipling someone or being discipled? Are you active in our Women’s or Men’s Ministries? You should be.  Get more involved – Central is YOUR church.

There are always visitors, some new, some repeat, showing up every Sunday morning. What a blessing!!  God brings them to us; it’s our job to make them feel welcome and share the good news. Don’t forget to invite our visitors back to worship with us again. Invite them to your class or small group.

Take some time to introduce yourself to someone you meet that you don’t know this Sunday – they could be a Central partner you haven’t met or maybe a visitor.  Be an encouragement to others – your smile might be just what they needed. This may be your opportunity to tell someone the good news or to invite them to one of the connect groups you attend.  Share  YOUR Central story with others.

Be bold and share your Jesus story too.

Your Elders want you to know how much we value each of you and are always praying for you. Please remember to keep our staff & Elders in your prayers daily. They need your prayer support to do the kingdom work that they do.  After the violence of the past week, our staff is under more pressure than normal ministering to our flock, especially the students and young adults. They can use extra prayers for strength, wisdom, compassion, and understanding.

Feel free to reach out to  your  Elder or any  Elder with any questions or concerns you may have. The Elders are listed at the end of this email with the partners in their group, by last name.

YOU are a blessing to Central in so many ways.

The Lord has brought you here to be a part of His kingdom work.
We appreciate your heart for worship, giving, caring, and serving.
