Weekly Update

From our Elders at Central

Tuesday, February 3rd | 2026

Rich’s series, which will take us up to Easter,  is  Feasting with Jesus.  This week’s topic is  The Son of Man   read John 9:1-38  to prepare for this week’s message.

Worship songs for this week are:   Holy Spirit,  Praise You Anywhere,  Trust In God,  Have My Heart

The duo One Common will be leading worship for us this Sunday.  They will also be performing a concert Monday (2/9) evening at 6pm. The concert is FREE and everyone is invited.  A love offering will be taken.  You can read more about them on our website.

Speaking of Volunteers!  We need your help. With 3 services, there are many more opportunities to serve.  On Sunday morning, On Wed Eve, where can you serve?  Children’s, Student, Worship, Greeters ??   Get more involved – Central is YOUR church – Be the church.

Darren Key from Christian Financial Resources will be with us February 15th.  They offer many types of investment programs which support churches across the country. One option - Stock & Cryptocurrency: Wisely give appreciating assets like stocks or cryptocurrency by avoiding capital gains tax through a Giving Fund with our partner, Christian Financial Resources. Click here to start your Giving Fund online or contact Christian Financial Resources at (800) 881-2863 or info@cfrministry.org.  Stop by the CFR table in the lobby on the 15th to talk to Darren about other options. They have some CDs paying great interest rates.

You have many opportunities to SERVE at Central!  Not sure where you fit in to serve? Contact Justin@centralstpete.com or Michele@centralstpete.com to get connected with a ministry.

Upcoming meetings…
Sunday, February 15 | VBS Meeting
 12:30 PM | Connect Center

Work continues on the bathrooms in the Connect Center. You have seen some of the impacts of our construction (new water line from 2-story to Connect Center). New tile being laid this week. We’re getting excited. At this time there are still no bathrooms available in the Connect Center but soon. For now, we will have to use the bathrooms in the NextGen House or Main Building. Thank you for bearing with us as the work is being completed.

Our Capital Campaign called Pass the Baton is still underway.
The main items that we are targeting are:
-         Main Building Bathroom Renovation (top priority)
Already getting estimates for this work.
-         Main Worship Space Renovation
-         A/C Unit Replacement
-         Mortgage Payoff

You can continue to give online or in-person. If you want to make a pledge for the campaign, you can do that on the website -
https://centralstpete.com/pass-the-baton

So far, our people have donated and pledged almost $540,000.  We are more than one third of the way to our target.  It is a great start toward our $1.5 million goal but we need to keep this campaign at the forefront. These projects are needed to serve our current partners and will also help us prepare for future growth.

You may also notice the new signs going up prohibiting “open carry of firearms”. They will go up in the next week to enforce our new Central policy prohibiting such open carry on Central property.

Please continue to submit prayer requests on our Connection Cards, Linktree, or through our Central App. You can also stop by our Prayer Room at any time on Sunday morning to submit a prayer or meet with a prayer warrior. We are a church that believes in the power of prayer and we see it working every day in our lives.

We have so many visitors - some new, some repeat -  showing up every Sunday morning.  What a blessing!!  God brings them to us; it’s our job to make them feel welcome and share the good news. Don’t forget to invite all our visitors back to worship with us again. Also, invite them to your class or small group. Let’s help them get connected.

Please continue to park at Northwest Park on Sunday morning. It will be a great help with parking for our many Visitors every Sunday if you can use one of our beautiful Shuttle Vans. Our service times (8, 9:30, & 11am) still allow for plenty of time to shuttle.

Be bold and share your Jesus story with someone who doesn’t yet know Him. Your FIRST testimony to anyone is the joy that they see on your face and in your heart. Let them see Jesus’ love through you.

Please continue to pray for all of our staff as they work diligently in their ministries. We are blessed to have such a talented staff and are thankful to the Lord for bringing them to us.

YOU are a blessing to Central in so many ways.
The Lord has brought you  here  to be a part of His kingdom work.

Central partners, we appreciate your heart for worship, giving, caring, and serving and are grateful to God for you.

Feel free to reach out to  your  Elder or any  Elder with any questions or concerns you may have. The Elders are listed below with the partners in their group, by last name.
