Weekly Update

From our Elders at Central

Wednesday, March 18th | 2026

Rich’s current series, which will take us up to Easter, which is only 2 weeks away – on April 5th ,  is  Feasting with Jesus.  This week’s topic is  The Holy Spirit  read  John 14 & 16 to prepare for this week’s message.

Worship songs for this week are:  Washed,  What I See,  Thanks God I’m Free,  The Church,  Do It Again .

IMPORTANT PARKING ANNOUNCEMENT

For the next few weeks, we will be testing a small adjustment to the traffic flow in the south parking lot (the lot in front of the church along 22nd Ave). The direction of traffic will be reversed so vehicles travel west to east instead of east to west. Our goal is to help reduce the near-collisions that sometimes occur when cars are both entering and exiting through the west entrance that also serves the back lot. Our parking team and police will be on hand to guide traffic during the trial period. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to make parking safer and smoother for everyone.

Speaking of Easter parking… Our Parking & Shuttle Ministries are looking for more volunteers to assist in making coming to Central a pleasant experience for our partners and visitors. Contact Martin Mickey martin_mickey@hotmail.com  for Parking Ministry or Bill Phillips 1969firebird1@gmail.com for our Shuttle Ministry. Your help is needed in both ministries - it’s a great way to get connected and an excellent way to serve fellow partners here at Central.

There are many opportunities to SERVE at Central!  Not sure where you fit in to serve? Contact Justin@centralstpete.com or Michele@centralstpete.com to get connected with a ministry.  Need more info on serving?  Maybe attending our Growth Track sessions will help focus your gifts where they can best be used for the kingdom – see next class date below.

The RAPHA Yard Sale is coming up again.
We are currently gathering volunteers to help make it happen.
Last year, this event was a great success thanks to many people from our church stepping up to serve. Through this yard sale, we are able to support RAPHA International’s mission to end child trafficking and bring hope and restoration to survivors.  There are many opportunities to serve.

The 2025 Year in Review report is finished. The report is still available on Central Linktree , in the Central App (under bulletin),  and on our Central Website home page. Hard copies are also available at the Welcome Center.

We are getting very close on the bathrooms in the Connect Center. New tile is down and looks great, painted, fixtures are being installed this week. We’re getting excited. There are still no bathrooms available in the Connect Center, but we will have them before Easter. For now, continue to use the bathrooms in the NextGen House or Main Building. You’ll be seeing pictures soon, as the work is completed.

Our Capital Campaign, called Pass the Baton, is fully underway.
The main items that we are targeting are:

-         Main Building Bathroom Renovation (top priority)
Prelim drawings done, contracts signed, prepping for permits!
-         Main Worship Space Renovation
-         A/C Unit Replacements (unit #1 one will be operational this month)
-         Mortgage Payoff
You can continue to give online or in-person. If you want to make a pledge for the campaign, you can do that on the website -
https://centralstpete.com/pass-the-baton

So far, our people have donated and pledged about $640,000.  That puts us just north of 42% of goal right now.  It is a great start toward our $1.5 million goal but we need to keep this campaign at our forefront. These projects are needed to serve our current partners and will also help us prepare for future growth.  Easter would be a great time to make that extra donation to Pass the Baton!

Please continue to submit prayer requests on our Connection Cards, Linktree, or through our Central App. You can also stop by our Prayer Room at any time on Sunday morning to submit a prayer or meet with a prayer warrior. We are a church that believes in the power of prayer and we see it working every day in our lives.

We have so many visitors - some new, some repeat -  showing up every Sunday morning.  What a blessing!!  God brings them to us; it’s our job to make them feel welcome and share the good news. Don’t forget to invite all our visitors back to worship with us again. Also, invite them to your class or small group. Let’s help them get connected.

Please continue to park at Northwest Park on Sunday morning. It will be a great help with parking for our many Visitors every Sunday if you can use one of our beautiful Shuttle Vans. Our service times (8, 9:30, & 11am) still allow for plenty of time to shuttle. Parking will be critical for our Easter Services so why not try the shuttles now?

Be bold and share your Jesus story with someone who doesn’t yet know Him. Your FIRST testimony to anyone is the joy that they see on your face and in your heart. Let them see Jesus’ love in you, then they will want to know more.

Please continue to pray for all of our staff as they work diligently in their ministries. We are blessed to have such a talented staff and are thankful to the Lord for bringing them to us. We are seeking a new Student Minister at this time. Please pray that the Lord will bring us the right person for Central.  Pray that we will be open and receptive to the Lord’s plan for this ministry.

YOU are a blessing to Central in so many ways.
The Lord has brought  you here  to be a part of His kingdom work.

Central partners, we appreciate your heart for worship, giving, caring, and serving and are grateful to God for you.  We love your desire to be devoted disciples of Jesus.

Feel free to reach out to  your  Elder or any  Elder  with any questions or concerns you may have. The Elders are listed below with the partners in their group, by last name.
